Poetry

Moment

Frozen in every dimension
Paralyzed in trance
Unable, unwilling to move forward
Succumbed in pensive romance

Eyes locked without purpose
The world around me a blur
Sounds begin to whiten
And soften to a whisper

Finally freed from commotion
That envelops without conscious consent
Life is buzzing around me
But senseless, I am content

The door squeaks viscously open
Objects merge to distinct
The calmness leaves for clamor
With life, again, I am linked

Bulb

From darkness, a pulse
A flickering beat
Evolving swiftly

A charged flame
Mere revelation
Radiant hypnosis

Kindle tossed
An escalating avalanche
Flooding precisely

Nerves fire
Lashes part
Pupils flare

Protagonist

A traverse unlike another journey
Painful often, I am learning

It's winding ways are unbeknownst
No true knowledge I can boast

Casting shadows as suns set
Mesmerized by thoughts I've met

Waiting for another turn
Though I know it must be earned

Sunrise

There was a time, I know
When the sun stood tall in the sky
When rays glistened over water
And melodic birds chirped by

But one day, the sun did set
And hid its gorgeous light
It took with it the birds
Its melodies and flight

For months and even years in time
The sun would hide below
And sorrow swept the 'tire earth
We yearned to see it glow

The light that's manufactured tried
But efforts were for naught
And all the prayers unanswered still
Left us filled with fraught

But one sole man with lucid dreams
Could see it with closed eyes
He shined his single memory
And alas, the sun did rise
